Child safety
If a child is in danger right now, call 911.
Phéro has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Any content or behaviour that sexualizes, grooms, exploits or endangers a child is banned.
How we prevent it
- Every photo goes through automated checks before anyone can see it. Photos that break our rules are refused, and so are photos showing a person's face or body, including children.
- Trails are anonymous and the app has no open chat. A phone number is only shared when a person chooses to, with one other person, about a lost pet.
- Anyone can block another person at any time.
Automated checks can miss things, which is why reports matter.
How to report it
- Open the trail or sighting in the app.
- Tap Report, then choose Harms or sexualizes a child.
The content is hidden right away, without waiting for several reports, and we're alerted so we can review it. You can also write to support@getphero.app.
What we do
We review these reports as a priority. When we confirm a violation, we remove the content, close the account, keep what the law requires, and report it to the authorities, including Cybertip.ca, Canada's tipline. You can report directly to Cybertip.ca or to your local police too.
